I roared!

This is me, checking in for a *brief* breath of bloggy air in these last EIGHT DAYS of grad school. I can't wait for next Saturday to come! And yes, I CAN believe that it's so close. Four and a half years is no joke. One of many reasons for my excitement to be done? Getting back to this blog! Alas, it must wait just a little while longer.

Anyway...the main reason I'm here is because I woke up to a nice surprise this morning. When I first discovered and really dove into the crafty blog world last fall, one of the very first blogs I discovered and fell in love with was Cheri's at I Am Momma Hear Me Roar. I found her when I was looking for a freezer paper stenciling tutorial, and her video tutorial is what created the possibility for the Sprinkles outfit and Annabel's Love shirt and so many other things I've made but haven't posted. (Just wait eight more days and you may start to see them all magically appear here!) I can't say enough good things about Cheri's blog. It's one of my top three go-to blogs when looking for inspiration and tutorials (up there with Finding My Feet and Made). I thoroughly admire her creative prowess - and how incredibly prolific she's able to be as a stay-at-home mom to two boys.

In any event...the reason I'm telling you about Cheri's blog is because she featured my upcycled t-shirt dress! Cheri is, of course, the person responsible for that wonderful idea and tutorial, and today she posted a picture of my project on her site, to be shared with her 5000+ followers. What an exciting honor! My blog-world just shrunk and feels a lot, lot smaller (in a really good way). It's kind of like having your favorite movie-star watch you in a 30-second commercial and tell you they were impressed with your acting. Yeah. Big compliment!

So, thanks Cheri, and you all should go check out her fantastic blog if you haven't already. I will see you all back here soon...SO soon!

  1. Hooray! (For lots of reasons, among them being t-shirt dresses and nearing the end of grad school but mostly, you!)

  2. Hey-I checked out a tutorial on the freezer paper thing. thanks for the tip-I will definitely do this soon. Can't wait to see what else you make. I just got a used book on sewing and they have a pattern for making a case for eye glasses. Nate mentioned that was a project you were interested in. Let me know if you want me to make you a copy of it.
