nesting

Even in the midst of preparation for our 5-week road trip, Nate and I took a couple days this weekend to nest. Well, I should say that Nate selflessly gave a bunch of time and energy to helping me nest, because I was about to lose my mind in the chaotic maze of boxes and laundry that was our bedroom. (I could have taken a before picture, but be glad I didn't.)

At my parents' house, our bedroom is the only space that's just ours. It's my safe place for introverting and generally hiding from the rest of the world when needed. Except, it was about the last place I wanted to be.

Major tasks accomplished this weekend: painting, wall-decorating, and organization. (Those also happen to be the things that have the biggest bang-for-buck in the restedness & nestedness departments for me.)

A little phone-pic peek at our newly nested bedroom:

It's not perfect, but at least I get a couple more days of walking into my bedroom and thinking, "Aaahh." -- Instead of, "Aaagghh!!" And, even more importantly, I hope to have the same feeling five weeks from now, when we get back from our cross-country trek and return to our bedroom. Somehow I think I'll need the "aaahhh..." even more then than I need it now.
